Our Affiliation with the South African Montessori Association

The South African Montessori Association (SAMA) was formed to provide a forum and representative body for Montessorians in South Africa. MCSA is a training institution member of SAMA. All MCSA trainers are individual members of SAMA and Heidi van Staden and Susanne van Niekerk have served on the SAMA Executive since its inception and are founding trustees of the original trust. MCSA students are encouraged to join SAMA as there are numerous benefits to our students which are detailed on the SAMA membership information that is given out at the first lecture.

Our International Affiliation

Montessori Centre International is the largest Montessori training centre in Europe. More students qualify through MCI each year than through any other Montessori training establishment in Europe. MCI have a huge global presence and offer courses and programmes in 90 countries around the world.

MCI is at the forefront of current thinking in child development. The courses offer a careful balance between practice and theory. All our newly qualified teachers begin working life, confident in their professional skills, and able to meet the responsibility of nurturing young minds.

MCI has recently introduced a Foundation degree, developed in partnership with and validated by London Metropolitan University, which is designed to provide a degree level qualification for the Montessori community. Currently only available to London-based students, this qualification combines the best of the London Metropolitan’s Early Childhood Studies with Montessori pedagogy for working with children from birth to seven years of age.
