South African Montessori Association
The South African Montessori Association (SAMA) was formed to provide a forum and representative body for Montessorians in South Africa. MCSA is a training institution member of SAMA. All MCSA trainers are individual members of SAMA and Heidi van Staden and Susanne van Niekerk each served a 10-year term on the SAMA Executive since its inception.
MCSA students are encouraged to join SAMA as there are numerous benefits to our students which are detailed on the SAMA membership information.
Montessori Centre South Africa is a fully accredited Service Provider with the Education Training Development Practices (ETDP) SETA. Accreditation number – ETDP10267
Montessori Centre South Africa offers two fully accredited qualifications:
- Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Development – Qualification 23117 – 120 credits – NQF level 5
- National Diploma in Early Childhood Development – Qualification 23118 – 240 credits – NQF Level 5
The ETDP-SETA is mandated to promote and facilitate the delivery of education, training and development in order to enhance the skills profile of the Education, Training and Development (ETD) sector and contribute to the creation of employment opportunities especially for those previously disadvantaged.
